Advanced CAD (Maya) SP02

This seminar will focus, among other topics, on the ability of animation and visualization techniques to study the topology of architectural or abstract form. By incorporating these new analytical techniques into creative processes, designers and artists can generate dynamic three-dimensional diagrams embedded with meaning prior to representation, giving rise to new possibilities for exploring form and space in both Euclidean and non-Euclidean space. Examples of techniques to explore such an analysis will be shown throughout the semester. Students will be asked to choose a technique related to a topic demonstrated in class, or courageously attempt to develop their own.
