Program Requirements

The M.S. degree in Architecture and Urban Design requires a minimum of 45 points in the following curriculum:

Summer Term
A 6849 Urban Design Studio I 9 pts
A 6836 Urban Design Seminar I 3 pts
A 6824 Reading New York Urbanism 3 pts
A 4528 Digital Modeling for Urban Design or
Elective 3 pts
Total required points 18 pts

Fall Term
A 6850 Urban Design Studio II 9 pts
A 6837 Urban Design Seminar II A or
A 6832 Urban Design Seminar II B 3 pts
Elective 3 pts
Total required points 15 pts

Spring Term
A 6851 Urban Design Studio III 9 pts
A 6838 Urban Design Seminar III A or
A 4688 Urban Design Seminar III B 3 pts
Elective 3 pts
Total required points 15 pts

Note: Students are strongly advised to take one additional 3-point Optional Elective during each term. No extra tuition is charged between 12 and 19 points. Courses may be dropped until the last day of classes.

Criteria for Academic Standing: In order to remain in good academic standing, students enrolled in the Master of Science in either Advanced Architectural Design or Architecture and Urban Design may receive no more than two LP’s in the Design Sequence, and no more than three LP’s in the entire program. This means that any course which receives a grade of Low Pass in excess of the above must be successfully repeated with a minimum grade of Pass.
