Amman Lab Workshop 2009: Intimacy

Director: Kamal Farah

The 2009 session of the workshop focuses on Intimacy. As an ephemeral outcome of public space, Intimacy accommodates multiple scales of interaction while reinforcing exchange. Continuously modified by context, and exhibiting a fragility requiring substantial resources to maintain, the conditions for Intimacy are unstable and sensitive to change. A variable channel for communication and transactions, Intimacy may only be detected when absent.

This workshop was conducted in collaboration with the American University of Sharjah in the United Arab Emerates and the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem.
