2008 Letter to Incoming Students

April 30, 2008

To All New Master of Architecture Students:

Welcome to the Graduate School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation. This letter contains information about registration, course offerings, and schedules for the Fall 2008 semester.

Registration

Registration for all architecture courses will take place online from Tuesday, August 26 - Friday, August 29. You can register on any of these three days; core classes do not get full or close out. A Fall course schedule and the Core MArch Fall Schedule is attached to this email. To view course descriptions go to the directory of classes at Columbia Directory of Classes. All students must be registered with the University by Friday, August 29. It is particularly important that as an incoming student you meet this deadline in order to be assigned a place in the design studio.

Please be aware that a number of seminars may be over-enrolled and therefore not open to First Year Students. Other courses are available within the Planning, Preservation and Real Estate programs of the School. Students may also take some courses outside the School (e.g. from the departments of Art History, Philosophy, etc., however NOT from Teacher's College), but must get approval from those schools, as well as from the admissions office.

The Bulletin

The Bulletin of the Graduate School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation outlines the programs, curriculum, faculty, courses, regulations, organization, and daily operations of the School.
