Email + ID
Incoming students are recommended to activate their Columbia E-mail address as soon as possible. You should click on the Activating E-mail link and follow the instructions. International students will be given Temporary Social Security Numbers by the Admissions Office in order to activate their e-mail.

For students starting in the Fall semester Student Services will send a package that'll include information on student IDs. The incoming students will be asked to submit 2 passport size photos. These photos will be used to create the ID. The student's ID will be distributed to them upon their registering for classes. Those who do not send photos will have to visit the ID Center in 204 Kent Hall after registering. Their photos will be taken and the ID given on site.
