**July 21, 2026** Columbia GSAPP is deeply saddened by the passing of **Harold Fallon**, Dean's Visiting Associate Professor, an extraordinary architect and member of our community. Fallon joined GSAPP during the Spring 2026 semester, teaching both the Master of Architecture and M.S. Advanced Architectural Design programs. As co-founder of [AgwA](https://www.agwa.be/), his work combined architectural precision with remarkable generosity, demonstrating how buildings can engage history, civic life, and the urban environment. Earlier this year, AgwA was awarded the 2026 European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture / Mies van der Rohe Award for the transformation of the Charleroi Palais des Expositions, a recognition of Fallon’s exceptional contribution to architecture. Dean **Andrés Jaque** reflects: *"Harold reminds us that architecture is at its best when it is both intellectually rigorous and deeply generous. His work showed how careful attention to context, craft, and collective life can produce architecture of enduring significance. During his time at GSAPP, he left a profound impression on our students, colleagues, and our community. His presence will be greatly missed."* We extend our deepest condolences to Fallon’s family, friends, colleagues at AgwA, and all those whose lives he touched. His work, teaching, and generosity will continue to inspire our community and the broader field of architecture.
