Rosanne Haggerty ’89 MSRED is a co-lead of A Home Genome Project, a new research publication developed through the 17 Rooms initiative at Brookings. The research proposes a shared, open AI infrastructure for cities to better integrate housing data, model policy scenarios, and unlock housing supply through coordinated institutional and computational frameworks.

Framed as a city learning cohort, the project outlines how shared computational assets—open datasets, protocols, and AI models—paired with institutional playbooks can support measurable housing supply gains over time. Rather than replacing expertise, the research positions AI as a civic tool that strengthens human decision-making, accountability, and cross-city collaboration in housing policy and delivery.
