Computation

The school played a pioneering role in pushing the generative capacity of design software in architectural practice. This experimental agenda has spawned a new breed of architects, acting as the basis of some of the most acclaimed contemporary design firms. As these new methods have moved into practice the school has pushed even further into the critical exploration of digitally based design, purusing new directions provided through research in fundamental ideas of computation. Computation at the school is seen as a both an experimental mode of operation, as well as a fundamental basis of knowledge for design work.
