In recent years, the school has built up a considerable expertise in urban ecology, rethinking the way the built environment can be analyzed and transformed. Increasingly close partnerships with scientists, government agencies, and community activists have redefined the field and the role of designers. Radical theories of ecology have been deployed to open up radical forms of design and scholarship.
