SOFTWARE | HARDWARE

The ArcView 9.1 suite of Software (ArcMAP, ArcSCENE, ArcCATALOG, ArcGLOBE and ArcREADER) is available on all studio and lab computer terminals at the GSAPP.

The GSAPP currently has one GPS device available for student use. Students should consult the AV department at www.arch.columbia.edu/av to schedule use of the equipment. For instructions on how to use the GPS device, consult the HOW TO page of this website.

SOFTWARE COMPATIBILITY

Data projected in ArcMAP can be exported to Adobe Illustrator and AutoCAD using the conversion tools located in the ArcMAP toolbox. Data can also be exported for use in SketchUp to create a 3D model.

Adobe Illustrator and AutoCAD are available on all networked GSAPP computer terminals. SketchUp is currently available in 202 Fayerweather only.

DNR Garmin, the software required to upload data from the GPS receiver is available in 202 Fayerweather.
