Robert Neuwirth
Journalist and Author of Shadow Cities: A Billion Squatters, A New Urban World (Routledge, 2005), New York
Robert Neuwirth lived in squatter settlements across four continents to write Shadow Cities, for which he received a research and writing grant from the John D. & Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation. He is currently working on a new book about the global reach of the informal economy, and has spent much of the past two years in Lagos, Nigeria, Guangzhou, China, and on the Brazil/Paraguay border.
