Mac OS

First you must be using Netscape3.0 or higher. Second, get a VRML browser Live3D, Cosmo Player. The VRML Repository has a list of browsers at http://www.sdsc.edu/vrml/browsers.html. Once the VRML browser has been downloaded and onto your system your Web browser must be configured to launch VRML files. Go to the configure page for further instructions.

Unix systems

The Netscape 2.2 version with Webspace as the VRML browser. The SGI systems at GSAP are configured using Webspaceand are VRML ready.

Once you've downloaded a browser and installed it according to the directions that came with it,you will more than likely find that double-clicking on the icon for a file on your local machine whose name ends in ".wrl" will launch either your web browser (which now has the capability of displaying those worlds) or a stand-alone VRML viewer. And you'll find that telling your browser or the stand-alone application the URL of a file on the web that ends in ".wrl" will do the same thing.

This table lists the (3) main Modeling programs available at the GSAP and how to convert to VRML files.
